Global Works is owned and operated by a close-knit and dedicated group of trained educators and former Global Works leaders.As experienced professionals, who better to understand better the “ins and outs” of programming than those who have worked in the field for a combined 65 years.  Global Works directors and staff are wholeheartedly involved in all aspects of programming and committed to running the highest quality, safety-conscious trips in the industry.

Fritz Moriarty

Fritz Moriarty - Co-Owner, Director of Sales

Fritz spent his formative years at the Loomis Chaffee School (CT) and attended Ohio Wesleyan University where he earned degrees in Anthropology and Environmental Studies. After college, Fritz taught and lived in Costa Rica with a host family through World Teach. From there Fritz went on to teach Spanish and ESL at the Indian Mountain School while leading Global Works trips in the summer. Currently, Fritz directs Ecuador, Peru, and Spain programs, and heads up our Custom Group Travel department. Come wintertime, you'll find Fritz ripping it up on his tele skis in the Colorado back country.

Braden Wilson

Braden Wilson - Director of Programing & Central America Country Co-Director

Before joining our home office team full-time, Braden taught Spanish to middle school students in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. His interests continually lead him to various countries throughout Latin America where he has worked in public health and community development projects in Peru, Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama and Nicaragua. He currently coordinates all programming for Global Works. In his free time, Braden enjoys kayaking, skiing, mountain biking and traveling.

Polly Moriarty

Polly Moriarty - Co-Owner, Director of Human Resources

University of Colorado, M.A. Spanish and Education
Ohio Wesley University, B.A. Spanish and Psychology

Since 1998, Polly has worked with Global Works, first in the field and more recently in the home office. While teaching Spanish at the Westminster School (CT) and Summit Middle School (CO), she spent her summers leading Global Works trips in Costa Rica and Ecuador.  Along with her HR duties, she now heads up the France and China programs. Polly enjoys running, hiking, and tele-skiing in the mountains of Colorado with her husband, Fritz, their daughters, Ellie and Hanna, and their dog, Pacha Mama.

Rebecca Battenfelder

Becca Battenfelder - Enrollment Coordinator

University of Vermont, B.A. Natural Resources and Recreation Managment
Becca’s background includes study abroad to Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua and Belize where she developed firsthand experience with sustainable community development and eco-tourism projects. Always scratching the travel bug within, Becca has been a guide and leader for projects in Montana, Honduras, Costa Rica and Nicaragua. She is also a board member of Philanthropiece Foundation and co directs a Boulder based Youth Global Leadership, a youth-designed and driven program of Philanthropiece that focuses on local and international service, entrepreneurship and leadership through action.  In her free time, you can find her on the slopes, rafting the Arkansas River, heating up the kitchen or blogging on Notes from the Globe!

Emily Werner

Emily Werner - Owner, Financial Management

Washington University, B.S. Psychology

Emily is a liscensed psychologist who splits her time between Global Works and The Children’s Hospital of Denver. Whiler formal Global Works duties include financial management and serving as a board member, she also acts as our resident consultant on child and adolescent development. Emily spends any remaining time keeping up with her three children and training for marathons.

Craig Fahey

Craig Fahey, Marketing Director
Otago University, B.A. Engineering

Craig adds nearly two decades of experience to Global Works through working with youth in educational settings both here and abroad. After joining Global Works in its early years, Craig learned the industry alongside the company founders and has helped Global Works to become an industry leader through his roles of program director and director of risk management. Outside of Global Works, Craig’s passions include international travel and exploring the mountains and rivers of his homes in Boulder, Colorado and Wanaka, New Zealand.

Erik Werner

Erik Werner- Owner & Executive Director

Erik brings nearly twenty years of experience working as a high school educator and travel program administrator to his tenure as Global Works Director. He is a former Peace Corp Volunteer in Bolivia who received undergraduate degrees in International Studies and Spanish and an M.A. in Education from the University of Washington in Seattle. Erik keeps his Spanish language skills fresh by coordinating our Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Argentina, and Panama programs. Outside of work, Erik is most likely found spending time with his wife Emily and three children Luke, Ava, and Julia.
