Argentina 4-Week

Language Immersion & Service Adventure

PROGRAM ACCOMMODATIONS

BUENOS AIRES AND ORIENTATION

Our Argentina trip begins in the hip and conveniently located Palermo Soho area of Buenos Aires. Our colorful hotel is set in a beautiful restored house from the 19th century. It has a communal kitchen, a TV lounge and a computer area with internet access.  It provides rooms with bunk beds and private bathrooms.  Girls and guys have separate rooms and bathrooms of course.   Guests enjoy a buffet breakfast with scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, croissants and dulce de leche.

BONPLAND COMMUNITY HOMESTAY

We will travel north to the Misiones Province and the small town of Bonpland where we’ll meet and stay with our gracious host families for 11 days. Our homestay families are carefully selected and the vast majority have hosted Global Works students in the past.  Families are carefully chosen through the local “Youth Club” and must be interested in the cultural exchange element.  Most families live in ‘middle-class’ homes and all are committed to providing a caring, secure environment for our participants. Families must provide our students a private room within the home which is shared between two Global Works students.  Participants eat meals, sleep, and spend weekends with their homestay families. Most weekday mornings, afternoons, and evenings, the groups come together to work on projects and engage in organized activities with fellow Global Works participants and members of the community.

IGUAZÚ FALLS AND MALARGÜE

During these two sections of the trip our group will stay at private eco-lodges located a short drive away from Iguazu Falls and the ski slopes of Malargue respectively.  Accommodations during both sections are roomy cabins and/or rooms shared by four to five students and all lodges have an onsite common area/recreation lounge, and eating areas.
