LEARN MANDARIN IN CHINA THROUGH A LANGUAGE IMMERSION SERVICE ADVENTURE!

Go “beyond the wall” on this journey through China’s lesser-known regions.  We escape the tourist track in order to delve deeper into Chinese society and learn about the many cultures that contribute to China as we know it today.  Through guided instruction, language immersion activities, and cultural exchange, you are immersed in the Mandarin language and gain confidence in your conversational and written skills.  During our time in China, you experience a journey through the buzz of Beijing houtongs to the peacefulness of Buddhist monasteries, all the while vastly improving your Mandarin language skills!

Service Projects

  • Earn 30-45 community service hours
  • Volunteer in orphanages and elementary schools
  • Teach games, arts, and sports to children

Language Immersion

  • Receive language lessons facilitated by Chinese teachers
  • Learn Chinese through cultural activities, tai chi, and sports
  • Visit with local families and sustainable farms

Adventure and Cultural Activities

  • Explore the Olympic venues of Beijing
  • Toboggan slide on the world-famous Great Wall of China
  • Bike to Buddhist Monasteries outside of Lijiang
  • Visit the Terracotta Warriors, Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and other famous sites
  • Trek through the spectacular Tiger Leaping Gorge
