Program Accommodataions

Orientation

In Beijing, we stay in a comfortable, small hotel located in a traditional houtong (a neighborhood comprised of narrow alleyways) within walking distance from the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square.  A “courtyard hotel”, all the rooms open up into a center courtyard that is perfect for group meetings. The central area also doubles as a cafe where we have breakfast, and in the evenings after full days of touring the city and community service projects, our hosts serve us steaming hot ginger tea. Students stay in double or dorm-style rooms. Each room has a western-style bathroom.

Lijiang

A 25 minute drive from Lijiang City, our quaint, family-run hotel is located in a rural Naxi village. At the foot of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, it is cozy, relaxing, and surrounded with gorgeous scenery. Students will stay 2 to 4 per room and each room has a separate bathroom.

Xi’an
Our lodging in Xi'an is centrally located with a youth hostel side and hotel side. We stay on the hotel side in rooms, 2 to 4 students per room with private bathrooms. We do not stay with other travelers.

Testimonials | SEE ALL

Being immersed in a culture different than mine is the most amazing and rewarding experience anyone could have.

Rebecca Hoogwerf, China Participant

My favorite part of the trip was visiting the orphanages. I felt very useful and giving, but I also enjoyed it for myself.

Taylor McGinnis, China Participant

As cliché as it sounds, I just cannot pick my favorite part. I just spent a month in the place I’ve been dreaming about since I was a child.
