LEARN SCIENCE IN COSTA RICA THROUGH A SCIENCE AND SERVICE ADVENTURE!

Despite its size, the Central American nation of Costa Rica is considered to be one of the most biodiverse countries in the world. Costa Rica serves as a global model of conservation and land stewardship, with nearly thirty percent of its lands preserved and protected.  Spend two weeks exploring and working to further protect the cloud forests, tropical rivers, rainforest canopies, and coastal habitats of this impressive nation.

Service Projects

  • Earn 20-30 community service hours
  • Sea turtle habitat and population study
  • Beach cleaning activities, night watches, searching the beach for turtle eggs, taking scientific data, taking care of the nesting sites
  • Work alongside park rangers on environmentally sustainable projects to preserve and protect the six life zones within the reserve

 

 

Adventure and Cultural Activities

  • Overnight rafting adventure
  • Snorkeling expeditions
  • Visit to the National Institute of Biological Diversity
  • Boat tour along Osa pensinsula coast line
  • Hikes through untracked cloudforest
