PROGRAM ACCOMMODATIONS
ORIENTATION
Located on former coffee plantations, our Central Valley lodges offer seclusion from the hustle and bustle of the city yet serve as convenient bases to experience all that Central Costa Rica has to offer. A Global Works Costa Rica participant spends the first few days of the program in a small and comfortable lodge located in the mountains surrounding the capital of San Jose. The lodges we utilize are locally owned and specialize in hosting student groups. Lodging is typically dorm style with 4- 6 students sleeping in bunk beds, but each room has a private bathroom with hot water showers. Large group spaces are present on the properties and are an ideal spot for group orientation and ice-breaker activities.

SOUTHERN PACIFIC ECO-RESORT SURF CAMP
For the first half of the program, Surf and Service participants stay at an eco-lodge in southern Costa Rica built at the edge of the jungle and the beach surrounded by a spectacular wildlife refuge. Accommodations are roomy cabins shared by four to five students and the lodge is styled with an onsite swimming pool, hammocks, common areas, and outdoor palapa style eating areas.

NORTHERN PACIFIC ECO-RESORT SURF CAMP
For the final section of the program, the Global Works "service surfers" make their way northward to the fabled beaches of Guanacaste and stay at a private surf oasis bordering beach, mangrove forests, and one of the most important nesting sites for leatherback sea turtles. Accommodations consist of private tree houses sleeping 4-6 students, with an outdoor restaurant, and a huge swimming pool to cool off between surf sessions.
