MADRID
Global Works participants begin and end their journey in the heart of Madrid’s cosmopolitan inner city. Our hostel is right off of the bustling square, Puerta del Sol, and a few blocks walk to the majestic Plaza Mayor and the renowned Prado Museum. This historic 19th century building was a favorite haunt of Ernest Hemingway and the location of the first cinema projection in Spain before it became the simple but comfortable hostel that it is today. All rooms have private bathrooms.
GRANADA
For eight days, we will stay at the Fundacion Escuela de Solidaridad just outside of Granada. The Fundacion serves as our base for completing our service projects in the Granada area. Accommodations consist of dorm style lodging with private bathrooms. Expansive open spaces are on the premises as well as a large swimming pool and a communal dining area where we share meals with local families.
