Sunny is part of the Partnership Scholars Program, a program in which they induct academically gifted students in 7th grade with financial disadvantages and match the with a mentor. This wonderful program will take her all the way through high school and help give her enriching opportunities as well as apply for scholarships for college. The main goal of the program is to be admitted into a four-year university after high school. She has aspirations of studying abroad in college in a Spanish- speaking country and would like to immerse herself in the language prior to graduating high school.
While maintaining a high GPA, Sunny is a dedicated varsity athlete in: volleyball, basketball, track, and cross country. She also is a former swim team member and since her freshman year has been a certified first responder and employed as a lifeguard at her local aquatic facility. Sunny always has had a love for the water, athletics, and a passion for helping others . She has a strong work ethic and is Vice President of her class as well as the school’s Rally Commissioner. Sunny would like extend her medical background as a first responder/lifeguard and enter the medical field; prior to going pre-med or becoming a physical therapist involving sports medicine (majoring in kinesiology) she would like to become certified as an Emergency Medical Technician.
Aside from Sunny’s many extracurriculars, her favorite subjects in school are Mathematics and Spanish, she is currently an outstanding student in Spanish III as a Junior and plans to take AP Spanish her Senior year. She wants to immerse herself in a Spanish-speaking country to advance and improve her conversational and comprehensive skills. Sunny also wants to become more in touch with a foreign country and the Spanish culture.
