What’s your favorite part about leading trips?
Witnessing students grow, create relationships and get out of their comfort zone. It is gratifying seeing a student’s face light up when they try a new food, using their Spanish to communicate with children, and, especially, when they form bonds with home-stay families. There are many experiences waiting for them to engage in

What is something you can’t live without while you are traveling?
My hydration pack, and sketchbook!

Guatemala because my extended family resides there

Fun fact, special talent, or favorite memory

What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to create art when I can. I also love eating and trying new burgers from different places!

What languages do you speak?
English and Spanish

If you had to give one piece of advice or words of encouragement to someone on their first travel experience, what would it be?
Expect the unexpected and embrace the present. Oftentimes, we worry too much about the future and forget to enjoy, and savor the moment. During stressful times, take a few deep breaths and look around you. Think about what you’re smelling, touching, feeling and hearing. Mindfulness is important!

Tell us why you are excited for this year’s trip!
I am super excited to return to Costa Rica, and visit the families I met last year
