Casa Crisley is Global Works’ home base for most La Fortuna and San Carlos programming in Costa Rica. It’s nestled in the center of the La Tigra district on the property of Global Works’ longtime Costa Rica Director, Crisley Cespedes.
Casa Crisley is located on a working dairy farm, complete with a small cheese factory! It is beloved by Global Works participants because of its privacy, peaceful natural surroundings, and proximity to programming.
What’s it like to stay at Casa Crisley?
Students sleep in rooms of 4-8 students. Bedding is provided. Students sleep in rooms separated by gender identity.
For School Group Travel, program chaperones sleep in single rooms adjacent (but separate) from student rooms.
Casa Crisley is super functional for Global Works groups! There are multiple large, covered outdoor spaces, perfect for gathering for debriefs, meals, and games.
There is also a pool and space for soccer games on the property. Crisley’s home is a sustainable dairy farm. There are endless opportunities to explore and interact with the unique natural surroundings, including local flora and fauna, during your stay!
Each room contains a bathroom with a toilet, shower, and sink inside – similar to what you’d find in a traditional hotel room.
Breakfast and dinner are home-cooked on site by chefs who have been cooking meals for Global Works students for years. There is a covered dining room on site for meals.
Groups take part in a cheesemaking workshop, an interactive conversation with Crisley about the founding of his small business, a folk dance presentation, and a walk-through of the farm and property to learn about sustainable farming practices from an expert.
