Hurricane Relief: Session 2
The walls are complete, leaving one final task — building the roof. A group of 25 students from across the country came together to work alongside community members to finish the job. They spent two days tying rebar and setting the wooden frames. Their third day of work was the most challenging yet — pouring cement into the wooden frame for the roof! This marks the stopping point for this project!

Moorestown Friends School
With the molds prepared by the last group – this 8th grade class had the strenuous job of pouring cement into all the walls! This is no easy task & took 2 full days of hard work to complete!

Independence School
With the floor complete, this 8th-grade group picked up right where the last team left off. Their task was to prepare the molds for the walls. They worked with rebar and wooden forms to build the framework, setting the stage for the next groups to begin filling them with cement.

Prospect Hill
Prospect Hill students kicked off this project with energy and determination! The first step was leveling the ground and digging out the foundation. On the first day, the group focused on this essential groundwork and began setting up the rebar. By the second day, they mixed and poured cement to complete the entire floor.

Stay Involved
Global Works funds essential building materials like wood, rebar, cement, and tools for these projects. However, once a home is complete, families receive no additional support from the government or Global Works. To make their homes fully functional, they must purchase windows, doors, plaster, and paint—expenses that can take years to afford in a low-income community. To help bridge this gap, our program director is working with community members to collect and distribute donations, ensuring these houses truly feel like home
