Katherine Whipp

Katie grew up in Long Beach, California, where she fostered a deep connection to marine life and its surrounding communities. She received her B.A from San Diego State University where she studied Journalism and Sustainability. While in school, she grew passionate about the kelp forest and wetland ecosystems and decided to explore the outdoor education field. She has worked as an educator and naturalist on Catalina Island, Grand Cayman, and The Bahamas, connecting students and adults to the kelp forest, mangrove, and coral reef ecosystems. She has also worked as an English teaching assistant in Spain. When she is not working, she is traveling, connecting with new people and cultures!
