Xan grew up hiking in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. She recently completed a B.A. in Comparative Literature, Fine Art, and a minor in Spanish. In the last few years, she has worked as a language tutor, arts teacher, and STEM instructor in elementary school through university programs. After living abroad in South Africa, Costa Rica, and then studying in Spain and Chile, she has developed a passion for fostering cultural exchange and understanding through education. She is currently based in Boulder, frequently travels back to Costa Rica, and can be found camping around the Southwest, painting, and hiking with her two dogs. From backpacking in Patagonia, to photographing wildlife in the cloud forest, to studying indigenous art in Chile, she is excited to share her experiences with students and help them find their own new interests while learning new skills abroad!
