Today was our first day in France, the great red, white and blue. Today we landed in Avignon after a “short” connection in Paris. This afternoon, we started our two day visit in Avignon with the help of our incredible chaperones! First, we visited Le Pont D’Avignon and of course we had to sing and dance along the bridge. After that, we had some free time to explore downtown Avignon with our teachers. Now, we are writing our first blog post from dinner at a bistro but half of us are asleep (We have had a lot a travel in the past twenty-four hours). Tomorrow we are visiting Le Palais des Papes and we are all so excited!

Hey bloggggg!!!!!
Today was AMAZINGGGGGG!😃 In the morning we had some delicious pain au chocolat à l’hôtel. Then, we went to the palace of the pope and learned all about the history of the popes that lived in Avignon. Everyone took pretty pictures of the palace and the view. After the visit, we had a lunch picnic in a garden and watched the local pigeons. 🦆🦜🐥🐣🦢🐓🦃🦉🐧🐤🐦🪹🦤🪶🐦⬛🦩🧺 . We then drove to a light show museum in a cave with really cool art. After, we went to an outdoor mediaeval castle site that had beautiful views! Near the site, many people bought nice gifts for their families in the shops. After, we took the bus to a small town for our cooking class. There we met a super nice couple who helped us make ratatouille. We chopped vegetables, made chocolate covered cherries, ate cheese and charcuterie and made yummy mocktails!
Now we are going back home on the bus, and are ready for a good nights rest.
Au revoir!

Hi Blog!!!
Today we started the day with packing up all our stuff and eating a delectable breaky at the hotel! After that we got ready to buy some things at a market in Avignon, but it was closed. 😞 Luckily we went to a grocery store instead! Then we got on our bus and trekked our way to Pont Du Guard, a Roman aqueduct. We got to have a wonderful picnic and view! At the end of our adventure we skipped stones in the river and caught a bunch of tiny fishies with our hands 🙌. Then we walked back to our bus and started our 3 hour drive to Carcassonne. We bonded on the bus by telling funny stories to each other to pass the time. Once we got to Carcassonne we went to the hotel to settle in. It’s really beautiful 😍. After about 30 minutes of chillin’ we made our way to la cité for dinner. We had some scrumptious pizzas and fun drinks. Shortly after getting our food we were interrupted by some unforeseen thunder storms 😱⚡️!!!!! Luckily it passed quickly and we were able to get on the bus to go bowling with our host families. We had so much fun bowling and getting to speak some French to native French speakers. Today we had SO much fun and now we’re arriving at the hotel ready for some much deserved sleep!!!!
Au revoir!

Today we woke up TRÈS early to go to the school of the pen pals we have written to! Everyone was very excited but also a little bit scared. 😱 It was raining a lot so some plans got changed but it mostly stayed the same. When we arrived at the school, we ran as fast as we could to the building and started to see some élèves (kids) Français. We walked up to a meeting room and the first class of students arrived. They looked a lot older than us which was a little bit intimidating. We played a lot of games with many different classes like telephone 📞 (in English and French), charades, geography based board games 🌎 , and many more! It was super fun and slowly but surely we got more and more comfortable. After a while it was time for lunch so we went to the cantine 🥪 . Some people sat with their pen pals and others sat with their new amis français and it was all super fun! After that it was recess which was the highlight of many people’s days and trip. Everyone was talking, joking, and having fun and was très enjoyable. Even though it was raining, we were able to make the most of it and enjoy every second with our friends. After recess we did more games with our pen pals and then was able to have some free time to talk. We introduced some French students to crocadilly oh my! 🐊 and got to know people even better. We went outside and some people played futbol ⚽️ and talked some more. Sadly, then it was time to leave and we said goodbye to our French friends but didn’t forget to find a way to keep in touch! After a shortish bus ride, we got off and got crepes and gelato! C’est très délicieux!!!!! 🍦 We went back to the hotel to frenshen up and then we went out to dinner to enjoy some tapas 🍲! All the food was très bon 😋 ! Once we all finished eating we sang happy birthday to Violet and enjoyed some délicieux red velvet cake 🎂! We are all super excited 😆 for what’s to come and sad the trip is now over halfway done 😔!
Lots of love from FRANCE 🇫🇷

Today was an eventful day! We started by having a nice French breakfast at the hotel filled with croisants. We began our activities with a bus ride through the French country side. When we got close to Termes the bus could not fit through the narrow roads, so we had a nice short walk into the town of only 45 people. We learned about the history of the Château de Termes, or the castle of Termes, and were ready for service work with everything from pickaxes to rakes. After a bit we toured the castle and got to see some friendly horses and donkeys. At that point it was time for lunch and we ate a picnic lunch in town. On the bus ride back we entertained ourselves with conversations about our French friends from Jean Courrière Middle School, crossword puzzles, and some sleep. We then got to visit the large fortress in Carcassonne completed with a guided tour, ice cream, and some time to shop.
Following a short time at the hotel we were picked up by our host families were for the rest of the night we did everything from playing soccer, competing in french board games, exploring ceramics creation, having fun with karaoke, and of course eating a nice French dinner. Those were filled with tartiflette, potatoes, varying cheeses and of course delicious crepes. Today was a very fun day filled with adventure and lots of surprises.

Bonjour!
Today we started the day with breakfast at the hotel before leaving for Toulouse. We drove first to La Halle de La Machine Museum and explored many different inventions and machines. We also got to ride on a giant mechanical miniature and had so much fun. Then we went to our new hotel and got lunch on the block. Afterwards we explored the city on a walking tour where we saw many different churches and streets. Following that we shopped for a little and then finished the day with a long delicious farewell dinner. We are excited for our travel home and can’t wait to see you all.
Au revoir,
Violet, Emily and Adrian
