Lena was born in New York City and raised in a small town beside the Hudson River. Lena earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Barnard College of Columbia University, focusing on social movements in 19th century Paris. She also just completed a Masters in Fine Arts in Prose Writing at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where she has taught College Writing and Creative Writing to undergraduates for the past three years. When she’s not teaching, reading, or writing, she likes to cook, paint, and spend time near and in bodies of water. She lives in Western MA with her fiancé. A Global Works France alum, Lena will be helping lead the France trip this summer. She’s looking forward to facilitating a welcoming environment for students to immerse in the beauty of French language & culture.
