Culture and customs are different all around the world. Even within a country there are  various types of cultural norms. When traveling it is important to respect the culture you are in, as you are a guest in that place. One way to insure you are abiding to cultural norms is to abide to the dress code. Here are two tips to keep you in the know!

  1. Do Research

As a traveler you may already stand out. Standing out is a not a negative thing unless if you are standing out in an offensive way. Do research before you go to insure that you are respecting cultural norms. The internet is a great resource to gather information before you go. Of course, there is nothing as accurate as actually being there, but it is better to come as prepared as possible!

2. Be Respectful

Now that you have researched whats appropriate and what’s not, it’s time to pack! Covering knees? Shoulders? Elbows? Is the location hot? cold? rainy?

3. Leave Your Favorite Items At Home

When traveling usually the first things you pack are your favorite outfits.
