SUMMER SERVICE ADVENTURES
Welcome to our international summer community service trips for high school students. Our knowledgeable and experienced staff lead participants according to high standards of quality, safety, and of course, fun! Students who travel on Global Works summer community service trips are adventurous, curious, open-minded, and inspired young adults—comprised of a diverse group of students from across the United States and abroad. A common trait in our enrollees includes a desire to learn more about other people and cultures and an adventurous spirit!
Our programs take students to visit three to five different communities, providing a cross-section of cultures and environments from rural villages to capital cities. Community Service projects are an integral part of allGlobal Works summer volunteer trips and students can earn up to 70 hours. Global Works understands that traveling is not about the souvenirs; rather it is about what you share with different cultures and what you learn along the way.
If your are looking for fun and Adventure, and want to be a spark for social change in the world, let Global Works be your guide!
HOW SHOULD I CHOOSE A GLOBAL WORKS PROGRAM?
Global Works teen summer service trips are divided into three categories: CULTURAL EXCHANGE, LANGUAGE IMMERSION, and FOCUS PROGRAMS. All Global Works programs feature Service Learning and Adventure Activities!
Cultural Exchange Programs offer a balance of community service, cultural exchange, and adventure activities. While several options exist in non-English speaking destinations, there are no prior language study requirements and no formal language study involved. We just ask that you come with an enthusiasm to learn and have fun!CULTURAL EXCHANGE OPTIONS →
Language Immersion Programs involve community service, cultural exchange, and an added emphasis on either Spanish, French, or Mandarin language development. Participants engage their target language skills on a daily basis through our experiential language curriculum and, in most programs, a homestay experience (ranging from 8 to 12 days). With our bilingual leaders and constant interaction with native speakers, this is a true immersion experience!LANGUAGE IMMERSION OPTIONS →
Focus Programs include community service, cultural exchange, and adventure activities with an additional emphasis on either soc cer, surfing/ocean conservation, pre-med/public health, or pre-business. On our Focus Program trips, at least one week of the trip is spent engaged in interactive and intensive
skill-building workshops and clinics, led by professionals in the field.
