Isabelle Belanger
Isabelle has lead multiple trips with a different organization and is thrilled to now join the Global Works Stellar Staff! When not traveling Isabelle is a third-year college student at the University of Oregon studying Global Studies and Sociology. She has jobs both as a student leader for the Spanish Heritage Language department on campus and as a server at a locally-based restaurant in town. She has a passion for travel and intercultural competence and cannot wait to share that passion with her trip! Since she began solo traveling, Isabelle loves sharing with others the importance of stepping out of your comfort zone every once in a while. She hopes that as a leader she will be able to provide a safe space for all students to feel comfortable to take risks and grow. As an older sister, Isabelle considers herself to be a patient and compassionate person. She will talk with anyone at lengths about snowboarding, tap dance, or what the best dog breed is.

If you had to give one piece of advice or words of encouragement to someone on their first travel experience, what would it be?
I would remind them that they are not alone in any of their potential worry and/or nerves. Stepping out of your comfort zone is not easy but its from the discomfort that the most growth occurs.
