Leah Becton
Leah is a college-level English and Spanish instructor who loves to spend her summers off traveling and exploring with Global Works students. She has extensive travel experience in Latin America having visited Peru, Ecuador, The Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Chile, Colombia and, after her first trip with Global Works in 2022, Costa Rica! Leah and Global Works share the same passions for learning, environmentalism, community building, and travel, and her favorite part of leading trips is meeting and making friends with like- minded students. During the school year Leah can be found biking and hiking around Denver or, during the snowy months, reading and knitting indoors hiding from the cold. This summer she will be fulfilling her long-time dream of visiting the Galapagos Islands and she can’t wait to share in the natural beauty, wonder, and awe of this magical place with her students- it’s all she can talk about!

I love watching students make quick yet deep and meaningful friendships on program, experience the adventure, awe and wonder that traveling brings, and help them develop their second language skills!

If you had to give one piece of advice or words of encouragement to someone on their first travel experience, what would it be?
This is going to be one of the most exciting and formative experiences of your life- come into it as the most authentic version of yourself and you will be met with love, acceptance, and friendship! An amazing adventure awaits you 🙂
