What’s your favorite part about leading trips?
Getting to watch the changes that happen in students as they experience new cultures for the first time.

What’s something you can’t live without while you are traveling?
My passport. Obviously!

Tell us about a favorite memory from a trip you have taken
Holding a baby sloth on a GW trip.

Where is your favorite place you have traveled to?
Tanzania, Colombia, and Iceland…but Costa Rica feels most like home.

Fun fact, special talent, or favorite memory
I LOVE gallo pinto (rice and beans).

Why did you start leading trips?
I was a participant on a Global Works trip way back in 2002!

What do you like to do in your free time?
I’m a crossfitter and a snowboarder.

What languages do you speak?
English, Spanish, and Pig Latin…and a tiny bit of Swahili.

If you had to give one piece of advice or words of encouragement to someone on their first travel experience, what would it be?
Open yourself up to new experiences and soak in every moment because the time always flies by too quickly.

Tell us why you are excited for this year’s trip!
I can’t wait to be leading in Panama for the first time!! I’m looking forward to meeting new homestay families, snorkeling, and doing some meaningful service work.
